A ceremony will be held Sunday to honor two fallen Iowa firefighters. State Fire Marshal Ray Reynolds will present U.S. flags to the families of 60-year-old Larry Nielsen and 36-year-old Daniel Penrod, who both died in the line of duty in 2012.

Nielsen was Chief of the Gilmore City Fire Department. While responding to a barn fire, he suffered a heart attack and died. He was a 41-year member of the Gilmore Fire Department.

Penrod was working for the Logan Fire Department, when he responded to a house fire where the chimney collapsed killing him immediately.

The 19th annual Firefighter Memorial Ceremony will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Firefighter Memorial located in Coralville north of I-80 at exit 242.
