ON ALERT: Johnson County Still Facing Flooding
The Army Corps of Engineers are keeping a close watch on the levels of Coralville Reservoir and the Iowa River.
The reservoir level fell to 707 feet Friday, but forecasted rain has the potential to push that back up and create flash flooding downstream.
Over the next 14 days, the area is expected to see more wet weather, including 0.5 to 1 inch of rain overnight Saturday.
As a precaution all flood protection measures put in place last week will remain including sandbags and HESCO barriers. Officials are urging residents to be on alert; they are not out of the woods yet.
Next week FEMA representative will begin assessing damages and costs of increased flood protection measures in Johnson County.
