DATA CENTER: West Des Moines Works To Lure Company

The West Des Moines city council took the first step towards bringing a new data center to the city at their Monday meeting.

West Des Moines officials won’t say who the company is, but have confirmed that the data center would be a $140-million project that would create at least 36 jobs.

The Des Moines Register reports the council is approving a grant application for the company.

Microsoft already has a large data center in West Des Moines.

Facebook is currently building a data center in Altoona.
