The citizens of Iowa seem to still approve of the job performance of the state’s two veteran senators.

According to a poll taken by the Des Moines Register, 79-year old Republican Senator Chuck Grassley’s approval rating is at 60 percent, that is down a couple of percentage points from February.

Grassley has been serving Iowa in the senate since 1980.

His Democratic counterpart Tom Harkin’s approval rating sits at 52 percent, that is down 3-percentage points from the last poll.

The 73-year old Harkin announced in January that he will not seek re-election in 2014.
