Des Moines Police have released the name of a man found dead in the Des Moines River Monday night and say they’re still investigating his cause of death.

Police say a fisherman called 911 around 8:45 p.m. saying he saw the body floating in the water.

Thirty-five-year-old Zachary Johnson, of Des Moines, was found a few yards from the Harriet Boat Ramp on the city’s southeast side.

The fire department wet team was called in to recover Johnson’s body.

Officials say they don’t know how long Johnson’s body was in the water but there were no obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy is being performed Tuesday.
