Tuesday night, the group Mothers Against Violence wants the Des Moines community to come together to find ways to reduce violence in the city.
Colvetta Williams started the group because she says she’s tired of the violence that has plagued the community over the years.
The group led a walk over the weekend and Tuesday night is holding a community panel to find ways to curb violence among young people in Des Moines. It begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Forest Avenue Community Center.
The group has invited city and state leaders as well as police and other community leader to take part in the discussion.
