Boone police are warning the public about an incident that happened Monday involving a suspicious man who may have tried to entice a child into his vehicle.

Police say it happened around 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 2000 block of Crawford Street. A 10-year-old boy told them a gray minivan pulled up near him and the male driver asked him if he wanted to see his puppy. The man didn’t get out of the van and the child ran away and told authorities what happened.

Police say they don’t have a better description of the man at this time but are asking anyone who might have information about the incident to contact them at 515-432-2525.
