After 15-months of freedom David Flores is back in custody.
Flores was released from jail in March of last year after serving 15-years in prison.
In 1997 he was convicted of the gang-related shooting death of Phyliss Davis. Flores was granted a new trial in 2009 but remained in prison until 2012 while the state appealed the decision. The Iowa Court of Appeals upheld the decision to award Flores a new trial and he was released from prison after posting a $500,000 bond.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says he was taken into custody after the bond company revoked his bond.
His bond is now set at $500,000 cash-only pending a hearing Friday morning.
The Sheriff’s Department did not say why the bond was revoked.
