One of the state’s most picturesque bike trails is getting some national attention.

This week, the High Trestle Trail was recognized at the American Trails’ international symposium.

The 25-mile trail, which runs through Polk, Story, Boone and Dallas counties, was given the Trails and Arts Award for improving a trail with creative structures.

More than 500 bike riders cruise the trail and its signature lighted bridge each day during biking season.
