The Pappajohn Sculpture Park in Des Moines fills up this weekend, with some to the best art you’ll find in the entire country.
The Des Moines Arts Festival kicks off Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Western Gateway Park.
Of the 1,100 applicants wanting to be a part of this year’s festival only 175 made it to the big show. Sixty-two-percent of the artists are new to the festival.
You can also take in a screening at the Interrobang Film Festival.
Live music will be performed all day, including Los Lobos Friday night on the main stage. Aaron Neville performs Saturday night.
There’s also the chance to have some great food. Twenty-three food booths and the Iowa Craft Beer tent are also part of the festival.
The Des Moines Arts Festival runs through Sunday.
