Hundreds of people wheeled in their bikes as a donation for a program that provides bikes to youth that cannot afford to buy their own.

Freedom for Youth Ministries created the program, called “Wheels for Hope.” Director of youth programing Lee Towe says, “A bicycle takes a world that`s the size of a volleyball and makes it like you know a gigantic size for them. It increases the places they can go. ”

The group takes any bike…some in need of serious repairs…others come brand new. Volunteers start refurbishing the older bikes next week.

Six-year-old Kennedy Dostal says she’s donating her old bike because it’s the right thing to do. Dostal says, “It’s nice to take care of other people even if you don`t know them.”

The group had a goal of collecting around 100 bikes, but so far it’s collected more than 400.

Volunteers say it’s not too late to donate your bike. You can always contact Freedom for Youth Ministries and set up a time to pedal in your old bicycle.
