The Iowa state patrol is putting more officers on the road for the fourth of July holiday. The enhanced enforcement will last through the weekend.

Officers will be looking for seat belt violations, speeding and drunk or distracted drivers.

Authorities say the 4th of July is one of the busiest summer travel times of the year.

The state patrol hopes this 4th of July is like the last one – with no traffic fatalities.
