The 4th of July means fireworks and a night of fire just outside Oskaloosa.

The annual celebration of drag racing hits the Eddyville Raceway Park Saturday night.

Nitro funny cars, pro stocks, super shifters and a flame throwing jet fire truck will thrill fans but the main attraction will be 81-year old racing legend Don ‘Big Daddy’ Garlits.

“I got really good advice when I was 18-years old, he said ‘get in to automobiles, that’s what you like.’ He said ‘if you love what you’re doing, you will always be successful.’ Boy! Was he ever right,” explains Garlits.

Racing will take place all day at the Eddyville Raceway Park. Features start at 6pm
