Des Moines police are looking into a call involving shots fired at Des Moines firefighters.

It happened at Southeast 22nd and Park around 4:15 Friday morning.

Officers say firefighters were at an apartment in the area to check on an alarm when someone started shooting at them.

At least one shot hit the fire truck.

Firefighters were able to provide a description of the suspect and police were able to locate a man fitting the description.

After a ten minute chase police took 19-year old Alonzo Kearney into custody.

It doesn’t appear any firefighters were hurt in the shooting.

Kearney is being held on a $40,000 bond.
