A vehicle crossing the state this week brings new meaning to the words “hot pink.”

A pink fire truck rolled into Cedar Falls and Waterloo, Monday.

It’s part of the Pink Heals campaign.

Visitors are encouraged to sign the sides of the truck showing their support for the fight against breast cancer and women’s wellness.

“It’s going to promote love in the community and use the trucks to inspire us to fundraise based on love we have for women, not a specific illness, all the money stays in your own community,” organizers said.

The truck was scheduled to be in Fort Dodge Tuesday but broke down and won’t make it there. It will be in Ames on Wednesday.
