An eastern Iowa man is out of jail after holding police at bay for three hours over the weekend.

Police say it started around 2:30 Sunday morning in Iowa City after they tried to pull over the driver of a suspicious vehicle, who they believed had a gun.

They say the driver then abandoned his car and ran into a nearby home.

Crews called in the Iowa City Special Response Team and negotiators. Three hours later they found the man hiding in an attic.

Twenty-one-year-old Torian Cleggette was in the Johnson County Jail facing charges on previously existing warrants. Police say additional charges are possible.

No one was hurt.
