A man died after he fell into a grain bin in Webster County, Tuesday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies told Channel 13 the incident happened near the town of Dayton in the 3400 block of Oak Avenue.
Rescue crews received a call shortly before 1:50 p.m.
They say the man was attempting to remove corn from the bin when he fell. Crews had to cut holes in the sides of the grain bin to remove the corn.
Rescue workers retried the man’s body in the searing heat around 90 minutes after the emergency call came in.
They’re not sure if the fall was accidental or if it resulted from some sort of medical condition.
The victim’s name is being withheld for now. Deputies say an autopsy will be performed.
