Zach Johnson calls the John Deere Classic his 5th major.

Johnson, the defending champion started the day on top of the leaderboard after the first round and hoping to make it back to back 'major' titles.

The second day in Silvis, IL saw Johnson once again end the day on top with good use of his putter sinking a 10-footer on the 12th and again on the 14th, this time from 20 feet.

It’s a 66 for Johnson as starts Saturday’s round at -12.

He shares that score with Patrick Reed and Lucas Glover. Steve Stricker is just three shots back at  9 under.

Hawkeye junior Steven Ihm appearing at his first PGA Tour event ended his day and tour with -2 missing the 4 under cut.
