Steven Richard Fisher body found fort dodge

The Iowa Department of Public Safety has released the name of a man found dead in a Webster County ditch earlier this week.

Officials say the body of 22-year-old Steven Richard Fisher was found Wednesday in the 2500 mile of Madison Avenue, after a call was made to law enforcement. Initially, investigators didn’t know the identity of the body.

It was taken to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Officer for identification and autopsy. They determined Fisher’s death was a homicide but didn’t release the cause of death.

Officials say Fisher was reported missing on Tuesday by his employer.

Investigators say the circumstances of Fisher’s death are suspicious.

If you have any information on the case you’re asked to contact Webster County Chief Deputy Rod Strait at 515-573-1410.
