Police in western Iowa found the body of a man in a river after a three hour search Sunday.

The 23-year-old went missing around 10:30 a.m. Police say he was hanging out with three friends before he fell into the Little Sioux River in Oto.

Friends say they tried to save him before rescue crews arrived but the current was too strong. Crews found the body in the same area where his friends had last seen him.

The 23-year-old’s name has not been released.
