TRAYVON SUPPORT: Iowans Honor Slain Teen

As reaction from the George Zimmerman verdict still comes out, a group in Des Moines is holding a memorial and rally to honor Trayvon Martin.

It begins at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the State Capitol. B.E.S.T. Man community group is holding the rally. B.E.S.T. stands for bright, educated, strong and talent.

A rally in support of Martin was also held Monday night in Waterloo.

A Florida jury found Zimmerman not guilty Saturday night in the shooting death of Martin. Zimmerman said he shot martin in self-defense.

It’s a case bringing up issues on gun rights and race.

Monday night, a crowd met at a Waterloo park to voice their concerns about the verdict and violence in their own neighborhood.
