BRITISH OPEN: Johnson’s Lead Slips

The British Open completed its second round Friday.

It was a tough round for competing golfers. Only four players shot in the 60’s and 17 shot in the 80’s. Zach Johnson was the leader after Round 1, but was not on top heading into the weekend.

“I felt like I was hitting pretty good shots at times and getting nothing out of it, but that’s what you expect at the open,” says Johnson.  He adds, “I got a fire in me, I just kind of harness it more than others. I tend to play more of a stoic faced game, but I kid you not, there’s something in there. It’s just a matter of hopefully harnessing it this weekend.”

Friday’s leaderboard for the Open has Miguel Jiminez alone at the top at three under, while four are tied for second with a score of -2, including Tiger Woods.

Zach Johnson is only two shots back at one under, and 18 players are within four shots of the lead.
