The state unveiled its new online driver’s license renewal system Monday.

To use the system and avoid waiting in line at your local licensing office, you have to have a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 and younger than 70.

Your license can’t have been expired for more than a year and has to be within 180 days of the renewal date of your license.

You must also be a U.S. citizen and you can’t have any medical or vision restrictions on the license. The final qualification for renewing online is you must not need to change your address or name on the license.

Just like an in-person renewal, new cards will be sent in the mail.

Customers can continue to carry their old ID until the new one shows up.

The new system will also give you an electronic notice when your license is up for renewal.
