HONESTY STUDY: Iowa Ranks High

America’s honesty has been put to the test and Iowans rank among the most honest.

The beverage company HONEST Tea devised the experiment in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

The company set up set up unmanned kiosks stocked with its beverages and offered them for $1 on the honor system. Then it collected data on the people who did and didn’t pay for their beverages.

All of the people in Alabama and Hawaii’s experiments paid for their tea. In Iowa, 98-percent of people did. Iowa tied with Nevada, Oklahoma, and Tennessee for the 5th spot on the list.

Washington, D.C. was the least honest with 80-percent of people paying.

Overall, women were more honest than men with 95-percent of women paying and 91-percent of men paying.
