The body of a man who went missing while swimming the Upper Iowa River in Decorah over the weekend has been recovered.
KWWL reports officials located 29-year-old Eric Langland’s body Wednesday morning about ¾ of a mile downstream from where he was last seen near the Upper Dam. He was swimming with a friend near the dam on Saturday night when he began struggling in the water and went under.
The friend called 911 and search crews have been trying to locate him since.
Searchers from the Decorah Fire Department located Langland’s body around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.
