STATE SOFTBALL: Dowling, DC-Grimes, Bondurant-Farrar Crowned Champions

The 2013 state softball tournament is in the books.  Three teams from Central Iowa are crowned champs.

In class 5A it was an all CIML showdown.  Dowling Catholic knocks off Johnston 5-2.  Pitcher Claudia Farrell is named the All-Tournament team captain.  Dowling's first state title since 2004.

In Class 4A Dallas Center-Grimes holds off Carlisle 5-2.  Pitcher Paige Lowary is named the All-Tournament team Captain.  The Fillies finished 3rd two years ago, 2nd last season, and are now state champs.

In class 3A Bondurant-Farrar, playing in their first ever championship game, get it done.  The Lady Jays knock off Clarke 6-3.  Pitcher Cailey Schlenker is named All-Tournament team Captain.  It's Bondurant-Farrar's first ever state championship.

Durant shut out Treynor in Class 2A, 3-0

Akron-Westfield beat New London for the 1A title 5-4.
