Before Monday, Roland-Story had been to the state baseball tournament once, 1992.  None of the current players were even been born yet.  The appearance back in '92 resulted in a quarterfinal loss,  1 and done.

Monday the Norsemen made some history, beating Mt. Vernon 2-1 for the first state tournament win ever.

Zach Hovick pitched a complete game 5 hitter, striking out 5.

Roland-Story advances to the semifinals where they'll face Dyersville Beckman Thursday night.
