Another major shopping destination is now open for business in Ankeny.

Tuesday morning it looked a little like Black Friday on Southeast Delaware. A small crowd lined up to be the first one in when Mills Fleet Farm opened its doors at 8:00 a.m.

“We’re considered the mall without walls, so again, we’ve got something for everybody,” says Rob Lauwagie, general manager.

Many of the people we spoke to in line were waiting to buy ammunition but the store sells a lot more than sporting goods — you can also find lawn and garden, pet and farming supplies.

This is the second store of its kind in Iowa and it brings 175 new jobs to the Ankeny community.
