STATE BASEBALL: North Polk Outlasts Albia In 13 Innings

North Polk and Albia started their quarterfinal game on Monday a little after 8 p.m.  By the time it ended it was almost midnight.  13 innings, 3 hours and 35 minutes later North Polk moves on with a 2-1 win.

It's the longest game in state tournament history.

North Polk's Grant Schiltz had the game winning RBI in the top of the 13th for North Polk.  The Blue Demons had plenty of chances, Albia runners were thrown out 5 times at home .

North Polk advances to face Carroll Kuemper on Thursday night.
