A big drug bust in a small town. During a routine traffic stop near Adair, troopers found 55-pounds of high-grade hydroponic marijuana with a street value of about $350,000.
“It’s grown in artificial environments therefore producing a much stronger strain of the plant which at the end of the result allows for a much higher priced product.” says Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Rob Mordini.
Police are not releasing the suspect’s name or where he was going. They tell us they don’t want to jeopordize the investigation by letting those who were supposd to be getting the pot know it has been seized.
The State Patrol expects to release more details Thursday.
