DOUBLE STABBING: Police Say Victims Are Friends

A double stabbing on Des Moines north side has left two young men hospitalized.

A neighbor says the friends fight often but they have never used weapons before.

“Every day they always get into a dumb argument but no one ever thought it would go this far, says Anaise Johnson.

Around 6 o clock on Sunday evening at 1912 8th Street a fight broke out on the porch of one of the victim’s house. One of the wounded victims then ran to a house on 9th Street before calling for help.

Police say the victims were friends between the ages of 14 and 15. One victim was stabbed in the face, the other in the stomach. A knife was found in the front yard of the house. Police believe only one knife was used during the incident.

Several witnesses on scene were taken in for questioning by the Des Moines police department. Both victims are at mercy hospital with non – life threatening injuries.
