Young Iowans used peddle power to get down the Grand Concourse at the Iowa State Fair, Thursday.
To the sound of, “Racers are you ready? Crowds are you ready? On your mark get set go!” The big wheel races got underway.
The big wheel races are a part of Iowa Parks and Recreation Day at the State Fair.
Organizers say the trick to winning is training and being the right size for the big wheel.
Quinn Mitchell of West Des Moines won his race, even beating out his cousin.
The key to his success…“My grandpa told me to lean back the whole time.”
The races got off to a late start because the band stand semis were on the tracks.
