If there’s a restaurant in Des Moines you’ve always wanted to try, now might be the best time to do it.

Friday kicks off Restaurant Week, where 35 metro restaurants are offering dining deals.  Participating restaurants are offering two lunches for $25 or one three course dinner.

Some of the spots to dine include 801 Chophouse, Alba, Cosi Cucina, Django, Flemings and many more.

And if you eat at four or more restaurants you can save the receipts and enter for a chance to win a trip to Sonoma, California.

This is Restaurant Week’s Sixth Year.

The event originally came about to help restaurants get through a slow time of the year, according to Greg Edwards of the Des Moines Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

With the state fair ending and kids headed back to school, more people are tied to their homes.  This event gets more people out and trying restaurants they may have never experienced before, added Edwards.
