SHOP CLOSED: Unable To Hold Benefit For Carjacking Victim

The family of a seriously injured Des Moines man hoping to get help from a business might have to look elsewhere.

Chips Picks Antiques and Flea Market in Des Moines closed its doors this evening.

The story recently held an auction to raise money for Mike Wasike’s family.

Wasike was carjacked and severely beaten earlier this year.

The store planned to hold another auction at the end of this month to help Wasike’s family with hospital bills.

But store owner Louis “Chip” Peterson was arrested by police several days ago and is still in the Polk County Jail.
