Des Moines Police have released more information on David Flores’ arrest over the weekend.
Police arrested Flores for disorderly conduct Sunday morning. Officials booked him into the Polk County Jail around 3:15 a.m.
He posted his $300 bond and was released two hours later.
A police report say Flores and a friend, Corey Simpson of West Des Moines tried to start a fight.
As the alleged victim tried to walk away, Simpson hit the victim in the side of the face.
Police saw the fight and chased after Flores and Simpson when they took off.
Officers caught the men who reportedly admitted to taking off their jewelry in preparation for a fight.
This is the second time in the last month Flores has been arrested since he agreed to a plea deal last month.
Last month, Flores was arrested for 4th degree criminal mischief.
Flores was previously convinced of first degree murder in 1997 but was granted a new trial in 2011 when new evidence was discovered pointing to a different suspect in the shooting.
In July, Flores agreed to a plea deal before his re-trial began.
He was sentenced to time served and released.
