It’s back to school time for colleges and this week DMACC in Ankeny will have a new option for student housing off-campus.

Laura Stein of Houser Development says the new Campus Town facility opens this week across from the main DMACC campus.

“There is a demand, huge demand for the students they want housing that is close by where they are going to school,” says Stein.

The new development has a gym and fitness center plus study rooms for students. The apartments offer new stainless steel appliances along with 60 inch flat screens. The building will be able to house more than 300 students with a shuttle running across the street to campus

“Thats what we’re giving them at Campus Town is that college living experience. We do a ton of activities for them to meet other students. We get them involved in the community and that’s our main focus and goal is just to get them the opportunity to live close to succeed at school, and to have a great social atmosphere for them also,” says Stein.

Houser Development also operates Campus View Apartments, which is on campus.
