No one was injured when a train collided with a tractor Tuesday morning in Story County.

The accident happened just east of the intersection at 280th Street and 580th Avenue, near Cambridge.

Officials say 23-year-old Austin Shaden of Dunlap was driving a tractor westbound on 280th Street and had begun to cross the tracks when he noticed a train was heading southbound.

Shaden put the tractor in reverse to back off of the tracks but didn’t make it in time. The train hit the tractor.

There was minor damage to the train and the signs around the railroad track.

Shaden has been cited for failure to yield at a railroad crossing.
