Representative Bruce Braley will recognize the Marshalltown library Thursday.

Rep. Braley will give the library a copy of the congressional record of the statements he made about the library while on the House floor.

The library won the National Medal for Museum and Library Service earlier this year.

Only nine other institutions have received the designation.

The Marshalltown library was noted for its outreach to Spanish-speaking families and its commitment to early-age literacy.

Braley’s presentation is at 9 a.m.
