Iowa’s 21 F-16 fighter jets are getting new life but it won’t be here in Iowa.

After 70-years of fighter jets in Iowan skies, the F-16’s are being replaced by unmanned drones.

According to Radio Iowa, the planes from the 132nd Fighter Wing are being transferred to the New Jersey National Guard and will be based in Atlantic City.

The Guard there is also replacing the Herky the Hawk logo on the planes’ wings with a New Jersey Devil.

All of the planes are expected to be transferred to New Jersey by October.
