The Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families is celebrating its one year anniversary Friday.
The center, located at 801 University Avenue, opened last summer with the goal of helping Iowans improve their financial position and obtain their career goals.
It provides a series of services based around education and job training.
Rick Fuller says the center helped him get back on his feet after he had a stroke.
“I got help getting my career readiness, they helped with employment, I didn’t have money for glasses, so they helped me do that. I just think this place is a credit to the community.”
The center is a partnership between the Community Foundation, United Way and DMACC.
