STARTING QB: Hawks Name Jake Rudock

Kirk Ferentz confirmed Friday what most fans already knew.

Jake Rudock has been officially named the starting quarterback for the Hawkeyes.

The Depth chart for game 1 was released Friday .

Rudock, #15, will take his first snap as a collegiate QB next Saturday.

Rudock is a sophomore from Weston, FL.  He led his high school team to a national championship as a senior.

Behind Mr. Rudock there will be co-number 2’s, CJ Beathard and Cody Sokol, although all signs point towards Beathard being the fans new favorite player, and #2 QB.

Mark Weisman and Damon Bullock will share the running back duties as starters.

There are no true freshman listed on the 2-deeps.

The Hawks open up the season a week from Saturday, at Kinnick Stadium against Northern Illinois.
