The start of the Downtown Wednesday Farmers’ Market is being postponed because of dangerous heat.

The Wednesday Market, which is its third year in Des Moines, was set to begin August 28th but the forecast of extremely high temperatures has organizers deciding to push back opening day.

Those wanting a mid-week farm-fresh produce fix, or to enjoy a lunch of artisan food along with some entertainment can gather September 4th on 13th Street between Grand Avenue and Locust Street. The hours of the market are 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The market will run every Wednesday through October 2nd.
