CAR CRASH: Two Hurt After Driver Falls Asleep

Authorities said a passenger was thrown from a car Sunday morning after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 20 in Grundy County.

The Sheriff’s Office said 31-year-old Michelle Busse fell asleep at the wheel of her Jeep Wrangler and it then rolled several times into a ditch.

Medics took her to a hospital in Waterloo.

Her passenger, 43-year-old Steve Armsted, was taken to the University of Iowa hospital.

The conditions of the two are not known at this time.

The crash is still under investigation.
