Dozens of Aviva employees in the metro found out they could soon be out of a job.
The private equity firm purchasing the West Des Moines-based company sent a letter to staff Tuesday to let them know they’ll be cutting about 10-percent of the workforce.
More than 150 positions will be eliminated once Apollo Global Management acquires the company on October 1st for $1.55 billion, including 90 in the metro.
The letter says “Official notification of job eliminations will not be provided until after the acquisition closes, but we want to give those impacted as much notice as possible.”
The new company will be a called Athene USA.
