There are more details following the deadly mob beating of a Des Moines man last month.

On August 25th, Richard Daughenbaugh was brutally beaten near the Wells Fargo Arena.

A witness who asked not to be identified, tells us when she saw the attack, she laid on Daughenbaugh’s unconscious body to try to stop the beating.  That’s when she says she was kicked and punched by the mob.  She says her boyfriend tried to intervene and he was also attacked.

Shanayia Hamer says she tried to help the boyfriend but was later arrested.

"He was already shaking on the ground and I thought he was having a seizure so I grabbed his arms and grabbed his jaw and put him up on my lap because I thought he was gonna swallow his tongue," Hamer says.

"So we got back to talking, he was in and out and I talked him up -  said 'can you walk?' He's like 'I can try.'"

Police say Hamer and her sister took a cell phone from a witness trying to call police.

Hamer says her sister admits to taking the phone, although she says she doesn’t know why.

Police are still looking for another suspect in their investigation. Leprese Williams is wanted for willful injury.
