Des Moines police have made an arrest in a stabbing that happened in downtown earlier this week.

Sixty-six-year-old George Woods II is charged with willful injury causing serious injury and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police say Woods stabbed Timothy Pridgen around 11:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Locust on Tuesday. Pridgen received non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say neither Woods nor Pridgen had any gang affiliations. They also say the crime was not a random act.
