ROOSEVELT DISTRICT: Council Okays Revitalization
The City of Des Moines is moving closer to revitalizing one of its neighborhoods if it can figure out a way to pay for it.
The city council approved a plan to renovate the Roosevelt cultural district, Monday evening.
The area covers 42nd Street between Center and Crocker.
The council approved the plan but is still working to fund it. The city will seek a state grant however, the city must match the funding from that grant.
That could cost up to $1-million in a future budget.
No construction dates are set for the project.
