We crushed the old records in Des Moines today.
At 1PM we hit 99. That tied the old record for this date set in 1955.
At 2PM we hit 100. That was the new record...and the latest 100 degree day for September.
At 3PM we hit 101. That was the 2nd new record for the day and ties for the hottest September day ever in Des Moines.

Tonight will remain very warm. Lows will only reach the lower 70s.

Tomorrow will be warm, but we are not expecting records. We should top out around 96.

There is a slight chance for showers tomorrow night and Wednesday.

Much cooler weather returns through the rest of the week. There will be a better chance for storms over the weekend.
