The leadership at the Iowa Speedway in Newton is changing.

The Speedway’s spokesperson says CEO, Doug Fritz stepped down in August and will be replaced by Stan Clement, the president of the Speedway.

Sources told Channel 13 the speedway has struggled financially in the last year but its spokesperson refused to discuss financials or attendance at this year’s races.

Earlier this year, the Iowa legislature turned down a request by the Speedway to provide $8-million in funding to expand the race track.
