SYRIA ACTION: Iowa Lawmakers Resistant

Iowa’s congressional delegation isn’t sold on President Barack Obama’s plan to strike Syria in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons against its own people.

Along with a security briefing, Republican Senator Charles Grassley met with Vice President Joe Biden. Grassley’s spokesperson released a statement saying, “His position hasn’t changed.  He’s still leaning no and listening and asking questions.”

Democratic Congressman Bruce Braley was even more blunt, telling us, “I’ve now had the opportunity to review classified intelligence and receive a classified briefing from key American officials on the situation in Syria. I remain unconvinced that American involvement in Syria serves our national security interests.”
